Our perspective / Independent and practical

The Human Side of Work

VorkadTeamMeter is an independent educational website about the conversations and everyday conditions that shape working relationships.

Useful language, with room for reality

We write for colleagues and first-time managers who want to address a concern without making the relationship harder than it needs to be.

Our starting point is recognizable: a vague request, a tense reply, overlooked effort or a promise that never receives a follow-up. We explain what a technique is trying to accomplish, suggest language you can adapt and identify situations where a different process is needed.

We do not believe the right sentence can fix unfair systems, create missing resources or make an unsafe conversation safe.

Editorial principles

Clear about the work. Careful about the person.

Describe before diagnosing

We distinguish observations from assumptions about character, intent or health. Examples illustrate a choice; they do not establish what is true about your colleague.

Explain the limits

Power differences, discrimination, safety duties and organizational rules affect which options are appropriate. Direct dialogue is not a universal requirement.

Credit the ideas

We name established frameworks and authors where they inform a guide. A named source is background, not an endorsement of this website.

What this site is—and is not

This is a reference publication, not an employer, regulator, mediation service or professional advice practice. We do not assess individual cases, investigate allegations, provide emergency support or certify that a workplace process is lawful.

Our name does not describe a scoring product. The site does not measure employees, infer team sentiment or produce a diagnostic team rating. Reflection prompts are for thinking, not assessing a person’s worth or suitability for work.

Reading with judgment

We discuss ideas from organizational psychology, negotiation and management writing alongside practical observations. A popular framework is not a guarantee. Research findings can be context-dependent, and workplace rights vary by jurisdiction.

Use your organization’s policies and qualified local support when the issue calls for them. Our examples use fictional, composite situations rather than identifiable workplace cases.

Corrections and questions

If something is inaccurate, unclear or missing important context, tell us which page and passage you mean. A specific source or proposed correction helps us evaluate the issue. Do not include confidential employment records or identifying details about another person.
